I have built an app to quickly look up the Histamine level of various foodstuff.

About 5 years ago I acquired a food intolerance. There’s an institution delivering information about tolerance levels as a PDF for free. As I did not want to crawl through a document every time I ordered a menu, I decided to create an app.

The name of an ingredient can be entered and the level of tolerance including comments are being displayed.

Further, I wanted to play around with Apache Cordova as I have never created an app before and this sounded like an easy-to-use technology. The data lies within a JSON file being read on startup.

The app is not available publicly because of copyright issues with the data, and I mainly created the app for myself and have only deployed it to close relatives.
